Painted Tissue Collage

Inspired by the whimsical illustrations of Eric Carle, my tissue collage series explores texture, color, and tactile artistry. I begin by hand-painting large sheets of tissue paper, creating rich, vibrant backgrounds. Using an x-acto knife, I carefully cut out various shapes and forms, which I then piece together using acrylic medium. The layering process builds depth and dimension, giving each composition a dynamic, textured feel. This hands-on approach is a labor of love—one that allows me to connect deeply with the materials and create pieces that are both visually striking and full of tactile warmth.
